I have been taking the Kata scarf with me to three dance classes a week, for weeks.
I am sick of knitting it. A lovely little one row lace pattern that has served my tired brain well and now needs to be done. I will knit on it through one more class and bind off when I return home. It is going to be great fun to watch the pattern emerge during the block.
Monday was the most dread filled day. I have managed to piss off a number of people by telling them their daughters can not come to camp. Why they do not understand the concept of “full”, I do not know. I had three separate people call my boss to complain about me. I had others that I was able to talk down myself. I grew up in a hippy household and can not handle this aggression. When did people get so mean? After four days of having my heart jump to my throat when the phone rang, and holding my breath every time I checked the email, I decided it was time to write my resignation letter.
Monday evening I needed to sit down and spin. It was a matter of life or death. I grabbed a braid of BFL and Bob and felt myself calm down. At first I was spinning just to keep myself from popping a vein, then it occurred to me that I could use this fiber as part of the Three Week Danish Tie Shawl Project. If I can find a blue to compliment these carousel colors it would work. The blue in this roving is one of Grandma’s favorites. So I started to spin thick and with purpose.
Most of the red came out in the soak and I will not be able to use the first bit I spun, it will be too thin, but the rest is good. I have four more ounces of the same fiber. Friday I will hit theLYS and see if Emma has a blue that will work as the main color.
I have almost finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and I can not recommend it highly enough. I can not remember the last time I enjoyed a book so much. It has not yet been released, but it will be soon. Add yourself to the library hold list or pre-order your copy now.
Nice spun! I should try to spin.
