While on vacation I picked up an eight ounce braid of BFL, hand dyed by frabjous fibers and named Swamp Thing.
How could I resist such a name? I am planning to make the Journeyman Socks from the current Spin Off, for Husband. Because I want the colors to be mottled and murky, like the swamp thing that it is, I did not do any fancy splitting with the colors. I simply split it lengthwise where the yarn told me it wanted to be split. Here is what that looks like.
This is actually a pretty big pile, both wide and tall. I was amazed at the volume of fiber before me. Then it was time to turn it into little nests.
There are three levels of nests. The plan is to put each level on a bobbin and then make a three ply sock yarn. After a couple days of spinning I have this.
So many pictures! Apparently I CAN be taught.
Wow, it looks fab now I want to spin, even more than I already did.
