the good, the bad, and the ugly

 

The Good:  Sirius Satellite Radio has a Hanukkah channel.  It is not great, but how cool is it to have a choice?

The Bad:  Two holiday packages have not arrived.  This is a big deal because Father-In-Law is coming to our house for “Christmas”.  He normally spends it with his San Diego son’s, but they are unavailable.  Father-In-Law is very Catholic. Our secular version of Christmas is not what I feel comfortable sharing with a Catholic.   I will do my best. 

 The Ugly:  I am going to try to drive today.  Why is this ugly?  I grew up in Southern California, a place where there was no need to learn to drive in the snow.  I moved to Seattle, a place where there was no need to drive in the snow.  What is outside right now?  Snow.  What has been outside for over a week?  Snow.

Now, I do not REALLY need to go out.  We have food, wine, batteries and fire wood.  But there are a few things I had planned to pick up last week.   You know, after the snow melted?  The snow is still here, and there is more on the way and I want candles, oil to fry doughnuts, Ibarra and soy milk.  I also want to make a trip to the bookshop.  None of this is that important, unless you add to it the fact that I have not left the house for 5 days!! 

Cross your fingers.

Just drive slowly in the snow and you should be o.k. If you see another driver make a questionable move give them lots of space. Good luck!

I hear you. I can't get out of the long driveway (slight angle, difficult to do when there's ice under the snow, which is just now falling AGAIN), and am running out of things like milk. Feh. Hopefully by this weekend I can get out and restock.
