This envelope is deceiving.
It looks like any other envelope, but it contains treasure. Treasure? Yes.
My Grandma's canning recipes.
The tastes of my childhood.
They are mostly hand written and include the name of the person who gave her the recipe. I noticed that the names are all from Grandpa's family. It made me realize that she was a bride, very far from her family. She and I are very much alike.
I am overwhelmed with joy with these old pieces of paper. History right here in my hands. She was going to throw them out! I will scan them and get them on a disc so that one day I can pass them on.
I am a very lucky girl.
That almost brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful for you.
When my husband's Grandma passed away I took all her recipe boxes and typed out the recipes with all the little notes, etc, then put them into a book for my FIL and his sister.

As I go through my Mom's stuff, I have come across my grandma's knitting notes on patterns she made about 40 years ago. I know what a treasure you now have. Enjoy!

Check out the Books on Demand at Third Place Books. At some point they are going to be doing books that you want to publish yourself. Would be awesome to have a printed bound copy of such wonderful recipes on your bookshelf
