calling all canners!

This information may be old, I need some advice.  Will a case of apples (40 pounds) really give me 12 - 16 quarts of applesauce?  This number feels very wrong.

Is a case of apples really 40 pounds?

I am off to Ellensburg on Saturday and plan to bring back apples.

Last time I checked yes a case is 40lbs and according to the Ball recipes it sounds like that amount of sauce is about right.

All I can say, I haven't had any luck with it even coming close with what they say, you get. I got 40 lbs of tomatoes and all I got was 12 PINTS not quarts of tomato sauce.

You will get enough but I guess it depends how loose you like your sauce also.

Good luck I'm would to know how you did.
