Thursday night I cast on for March's handspun socks. While I loved the yarn in the skein.
I was not very impressed once it was caked up.
Turns out that I love the knitted fabric.
I did a good job of breaking up the sections of color in the fiber and do not think I will have any solid striping at all.
The cuffs, heels, and toes are made using commercial yarn. I cast on a cuff with commercial yarn then switched to handspun. I knit with the handspun until the leftover ball of yarn weighed 60 grams and then switched back to commercial yarn for the toe.
60 grams will leave enough yarn for a sock yarn blanket square or two. The heels of the socks will be added at the end, using an afterthought heel. I am currently about halfway through the second sock and should have finished pair in just a few days.
Great colours, very golden harvest. Nice!

I haven't done any knitting in such a long time but I am inspired by the pretty colors in your project.

See - I never can really 100% say if I will like something from roving to yarn to knit object. But I sure do like those! :)
