I have been cleaning out my office in preparation for Oldest Son's return home for the summer. This is the last time I will ever dismantle my office. It is so hard to pull things out when a kid is home for vacation, so I have decided that I will not set up an office again until at least two of the kids are out on their own. Not just away at school, but set up in their own homes. This will give me a buffer bedroom in case of emergency.
Wanna see my fiber stash before I put it all in containers?
The back row is all Southern Cross Fibres. One of the bags will be socks, the other two may be spun for Chadwick.
The green and black at the left hand side of the front row is Dragonfibers. Sadly, Emma is no longer in business. The fiber is merino/tencel and will one day be a sweater. In the middle some merino/silk from A Verb For Keeping Warm. This was a late night, wine fueled purchase, I have no idea what I will do with it. On the far right is 8 ounces of merino/yak from Wooly Wonka Fibers. Merino & yak? I am intrigued and intimidated. It is so lovely I am afraid to spin it. If I can ever work up the nerve, it will probably be a shawl. One of those huge intricate shawls that turn in to an heirloom.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I also have three 8 ounce braids from Frabulous Fibers under the bed. They were a gift from my Grandma and at some point in the very distant future will become baby blankets for grandkids. VERY distant.
There you have it, my fiber stash.
Love the very modest stash! Also fun to hear that you too are planning projects for the very distant appearance of grandkids.

That green and that pale purple make me swoon.

Oh. You definitely need more fiber.

Yes, I agree, this is a pretty restrained stash! Don't be afraid of the merino-yak - it spins beautifully!

I will have to post photos of my fiber stash once I finish moving. I can't recall the time when mine was as restrained as yours. Very impressed and kind of jealous.
