Pine Cone Lace Wrist Ruffle
Made for the Seattle Knitter’s Guild 2011 KAL. I was inspired by the color of the yarn which is very sprucey. Trees led to pine cones and a little lace ruffle was born.
Materials: 2 ounces sock yarn. I used Hazel Knits Artisan Sock [90% superwash merino, 10% nylon; 400 yards per skein]; color: SKG
set of US #1/2.25mm double point needles set of US #3/3.25mm double point needles
Pattern: Using smaller needles, cast on 48 stitches. Join for working in the round.
Cuff: *k1,p1* each round until cuff measures 3 inches.
Increase Round: *k1tbl, p1, k1tbl, [k1, m1] four times, k1, k1tbl, p1, k1tbl, p1*. Repeat across round, 64 stitches.
Ruffle: Switch to size 3 needles and begin Pine Cone Lace Chart.
Round 1: k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, k9, k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, p1
Round 2: k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, k9, k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, p1
Round 3: k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, k2, yo, k2tog, ssk, yo, k3, k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, p1
Round 4: k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, k9, k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, p1
Round 5: k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, k1, yo, k2tog, k2, ssk, yo, k2, k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, p1

Work Pine Cone Lace Chart two times total, work Round 1 of chart and bind off in pattern.
Finishing: Weave in the ends and block lightly to accentuate the curves.
